ABSTRACT

Failed projects, even the most humanitarian in nature, can turn into rogue spacecraft that can cause harm to space access by increasing debris or forcing spacecraft to change flight paths to avoid collision. European Cooperation for Space Standardization similarly provides a set of universal standards made accessible to all. Many of the up-and-coming launch providers are private and do not make their proprietary information publicly available, so GEVS is a good place to start. This chapter only provides a subset of the most popular sets of information on thermal/structural verification and validation of the spacecraft and its hardware. If slice/board thermal testing is performed on flight hardware, then a credit may be taken toward meeting unit-level thermal test requirements. Slices/boards shall be powered on and monitored during testing.
