ABSTRACT

The idea of implementing manufacturing systems that achieve high societal, ecological, and economic performance has gained prominence across the globe. Social entrepreneurship is all about identifying social issues and implementing entrepreneurial ideas, procedures, and operations to improve the lives of those in need. Social service and enterprise go hand in hand here, making it particularly appealing and one-of-a-kind. Social entrepreneurship is examined extensively in this chapter, covering how it differs from traditional enterprise, its conceptual framework and the steps it takes to start and grow a business. This chapter also discusses the numerous obstacles social entrepreneurs face and recommends ways to enhance the overall state of social entrepreneurship in India. In addition, the chapter discusses the traits of a social entrepreneur as well as the differences and similarities between social and economic entrepreneurship. This chapter examines the emerging trends of social entrepreneurship in India and the potential of it as the scope and impact of social entrepreneurship have risen exponentially in the recent years. Last but not least, how social entrepreneurship might affect the socio-economic structure of emerging economies like India.
