ABSTRACT

Blockchain is considered a disruptive technology and its impact goes beyond the economy, as it can transform the supply chains' social, economic, and environmental performance, leading to a more sustainable supply chain. This study presents a Systematic Bibliometric Literature Review (LRSB) of research on the correlation between blockchain technology and sustainability. The review integrated 61 scientific and/or academic documents indexed in SCOPUS presenting up‐to‐date knowledge on current insights on the various ways blockchain technology drives sustainability. The LRSB provide findings that can be used to exploit the sustainable opportunities created. For instance, blockchain-supported technologies can provide value creation opportunities, support humanitarian causes, trace production aspects such as gas emissions and energy consumption, among others.
