ABSTRACT

Metal-organic frameworks are porous materials that have been employed for a multitude of applications. They are highly modular materials, whose properties can be engineered depending on the nature of their constituents. These materials have been used for a wide spectrum of applications. This chapter objective is an analysis of the application of MOFs in nanogenerators, which can power MOF-based wearable sensors. Though this is a niche perspective, the use of MOFs in these applications has been relatively unexplored. This chapter aims to present research endeavors that have covered the use of MOFs for powering wearable sensors. This will help in analyzing the trends in this area so that the desirable properties of MOFs can be leveraged for standalone wearable devices also.
