ABSTRACT
EMERGE is an interactive, physically dynamic bar chart. Its 10✗10 grid of illuminated, vertically actuating rods encodes values in the same manner as traditional bar charts. Each bar is touch- and position-sensitive to facilitate interaction alongside horizontal touchscreens that provide axis information.
