ABSTRACT

Roof technologies are key to providing ZERO-PLUS buildings. But space is tight, and many regulations are in place to secure basic roof functionalities, such as waterproofing and thermal insulation, safety rail systems for roof access, lightning protection, and many more. Intelligent and optimized roof layouts, in combination with new energy generation products, offer great potential, but the required design complexity often prohibits the full realization of this potential. A software to partially automate and procedurally model multi-functional roofs promises to reduce this burden and thereby accelerate the adoption of modern, sustainable roof technologies.
