ABSTRACT

Adolescence is an intermediary period beginning with the onset of juvenility and evolving to a stable adult. In this scenario, there is a need to treat adolescents having internet addiction (IA) in the digitalized world. This chapter aims to develop a cognitive therapy to heal the internet addicts in adolescence period. IA had become a global health concern, which has negative impacts in daily functional behaviors and impairs the interpersonal difficulties for the adolescents. The behavioral patterns of adolescent samples in social networks and their internet usage time are observed and analyzed with training samples of 200 adolescents with and without IA using neural network. The brain wave activities of the testing samples are recorded using Electroencephalogram (EEG) test. Those EEG signals are compared with the samples in Dataset for Emotion Analysis using Physiological signal (DEAP). Problem-focused cognitive therapy is suggested for the identified cause of IA.
