ABSTRACT

Internet of Things has evolved the healthcare industry from Healthcare 1.0 to 4.0, which is known as the Medical Internet of Things (MIoT). In Healthcare 4.0, data is shared among multiple stakeholders using cloud computing, fog computing, and telehealth. MIoT devices and technology's interconnected, heterogeneous nature raises new concerns about access to patients’ personal data, which is frequently done without patients’ or medical practitioners’ knowledge. This chapter presents a comprehensive study to find the security and privacy issues, challenges, the susceptible devices in MIoT, and the future directions to keep healthcare data safe and private in the age of Industry 4.0 are discussed.
