ABSTRACT

The meat and poultry processing industries can generate significant amounts of waste. The waste generated by those processing industries can be recycled by implementing traditional processing methods like incineration and composting. Currently, various physical, microbiological and other methods are available for converting waste from such industries into several value-added products. The waste generated from meat and poultry processing can be converted into meat and bone meal, blood meal and fats. Therefore, in this chapter efficient utilization of waste generated from meat and poultry processing industries is discussed in detail.
