ABSTRACT

Microwave drilling is an eco-friendly non-conventional drilling method that is used for drilling different kinds of work materials. Microwave drilling is associated with the advantages of lower processing time and a clean form of drilling (absence of debris). In this chapter, the author reviewed the various work done in the domain of drilling of various materials through microwave irradiation. The authors have discussed the role of various parameters such as microwave exposure power, concentrator material, drill bit material, and dielectric material on drilling performance.
