ABSTRACT

In current scenario, the availability of real-time data about parking slots at buildings such as shopping malls, office buildings etc is very little. This unavailability of data makes it inefficient in maintaining the record of occupied and vacant parking slots. In the proposed IoT based smart parking system, multiple IR sensors nodes are interconnected. These node send the current status of parking slots data to the microcontroller unit. The microcontroller unit then uploads this information onto the cloud server. Cloud server allows users to access the available data via smart phone- based application with its registered username and password. This availability of real-time data about parking area efficiently reduces

the human effort to maintain the record. Also it is helpful for user to park their vehicle or book parking slot in advance. The proposed system is cost effective, uses compact design, requires little maintenance and scalable. The proposed parking system has been successfully implemented; it provides better efficiency and suitable in the long run.
