ABSTRACT

Nowadays, Internet of Things (IoT) is a very well-known technology for the interconnection of objects via wireless and wired transmission. Again, Cognitive Radio (CR) is now the established solution of efficient spectrum utilization. As a result, technology trends and modern research are shifting toward Cognitive Radio-Enabled Internet of Things (CR-IoT). The addition of CR capabilities to IoT devices has opened up a new study area for CR- based IoT. The authors provide an overview of CR-based IoT solutions in this correspondence. The designs, frameworks, & possible uses of CR-based IoT systems are investigated and highlighted in this paper. In addition, spectrum- related capabilities for CR-based IoT systems are discussed. Finally, the authors discuss outstanding problems, research difficulties, and the future of CR-based IoT networks.
