ABSTRACT

Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) are useful in many underwater missions related to monitoring of aquatic ecosystem. Most AUV’s are expensively built with heavy design and mechanical controls. There is a need to design economical, lightweight, portable underwater vehicle which can be operated through web or mobile application. This paper presents the design and working of an underwater vehicle or drone on Arduino platform with integrated sensor tile to measure temperature, light intensity, depth, TDS and pH level of any water body. This data captured by the drone would help in analyzing the water quality and pollution levels of swimming pools, small ponds, wetlands and streams. Various movements of the drone are tested in a small pool using an android application.
