ABSTRACT
Biofuels are the emerging eco-friendly sources of fuel in the aviation industry apart from the conventional sources of fuel, due to their practical utility, immense benefits, and being less harmful to the environment. This paper provides a brief overview of the emergence, perspectives, and importance of biofuels with an inclination towards the Indian aviation industry. More emphasis is given about the aim and scope of biofuels in a country like India, which has a treasure of organic matter from which the biofuels can be extracted, and also the objectives which biofuels are required to meet for our purposes. The paper also provides an insight into the types of biofuels in actual practice across the world in the aviation sector, with a spin of benefits it provides to the Indian aviation industry. The global demand for biofuels is also portrayed, along with the challenges and prospects. The paper aims to touch upon all the viewpoints and tries to emphasize how biofuels can be a game-changer in the Indian aviation industry, and the long-term benefits it offers to the aviation industry in the years to come.
