ABSTRACT

The aim of this chapter is to illustrate some clinical cases requiring comprehensive paediatric dental treatment. It should never be forgotten when planning treatment that children are not ‘miniature adults’, and each child has a different personality, anxieties, and dental treatment needs. The treatment plan should, therefore, be tailor-made for each child, with the aim being not just to treat the dentition but also to instil a positive dental attitude. Therefore, the principles of assessment and treatment planning, as discussed in Chapter 1, are of paramount importance and have been used to illustrate the cases shown here.
