ABSTRACT

Charge and phonon transport processes in CNTs-reinforced materials is an important topic in many fields, such as material science, nanotechnology, electronics, aeronautics, and so on. This chapter describes some basic aspects regarding thermal and electrical conductivity of CNTs-based composites, emphasizing the mechanisms that lie at the basis of these phenomena and also the factors that are impacting these physical properties. All these issues are very useful in understanding the phenomena governing the charge and phonon transport in multiphase systems and help to acquire insights on designing new materials with upgraded performance as demanded by the futuristic trends in high-tech devices that improve our daily life.
