ABSTRACT
The field of nanomedicine is booming with substantial progress made so far and possibilities of achieving essential milestones in versatile clinical applications, albeit faced with barriers that limit its clinical translation. Nanomedicines have witnessed significant encouragement due to its ability to address diverse disease challenges, from diagnostics to treatment, supported by current research. This scientific discipline is comparatively young and integrates fundamental scientific concepts with newer findings to address challenging medical goals. This chapter focused on the progress of nanomedicine so far and assessed potential opportunities that it holds, discusses the challenges and risks in nanomedicine design and development in bringing nanomedicine formulations in clinical applications from bench to bedside to assess the future scope.
