ABSTRACT

Health, social, ethical, and environmental aspects are related to biomedical waste management. Bioremediation of waste through natural plants (roots, shoots, and leaves) is called phytoremediation. Root length and plant biomass is an essential feature of the phytoremediation process. Through the phytoremediation method, heavy metal (HM) contaminants can be extricated from groundwater and soil. In this chapter, the types of biomedical wastes are mentioned, and the different methods for their remediation are discussed.
