ABSTRACT

COVID-19 pandemic is the most important event of the last year. This phenomenon demonstrated several limitations and weaknesses of our societies. But, in turn, opportunities are seen to improve these kinds of barriers in society. For example, one of these opportunities is the study of improvements in the quality of the environments of low-income people living in affordable housing. The literary review was performed from a structured search in indexed databases. Documents published in scientific journals were revised between the end of 2019 and the end of 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic is causing a drastic reduction in social and economic practices in cities. In this sense, the design of housing requires identifying barriers and opportunities in the short, medium, and long term. To this, it is necessary to add studies of the housing market in the face of the pandemic. Healthy environments are characterized by guaranteeing safety in all aspects of the different components of the inhabited space.
