ABSTRACT

The Social Internet of Things (SIoT) paradigm blends social networking elements into the Internet of Things (IoT). Aim behind SIoT is to allow things to build social relationship on their own, which could make network navigation and information and service discovery easier. The heterogeneity and dynamicity of network, as well as social ties between devices, present a number of challenge, including how to construct trustworthy network. We offer an adaptive trust management paradigm in the research to assist nodes in their search for trusted service providers. A service provider's dependability is determined based on previous interactions with the requestor and recommendations from the requester's neighbors. SIoT's working layer is organized into three layers, each with its own set of features, methodologies, and communication protocols. The SIoT prototype increases ability of social being and things to discover, select and use its services in IoT. With determined user interference, the SIoT is now rapidly growing in many real time IoT applications with different SIoT instance such as IP based phones, Cameras, healthcare devices, television, and Autos. Finally, the key objective of this chapter is to examine several Social IoT approaches, applications, implications, and problems.
