ABSTRACT
This chapter presents information about the various sources of available energy and the production of power from these various energy supplies. The topics highlighted include fossil fuels, nuclear energy, solar energy, hydroelectric and geothermal energy, power generation, and air conditioning and refrigeration. Six illustrative examples and five problems are provided to demonstrate concepts presented throughout the chapter.
