ABSTRACT
This chapter presents an introduction to nanotechnology with topics highlighting nanomaterials and their production methods; current applications of nanomaterials in various consumer and industrial products, environmental implications of nanomaterial production, health and hazard risk assessments related to nanomaterials, environmental regulations, and future trends in the industry. Five illustrative examples and five problems are provided to demonstrate health and hazard risk concepts associated with nanotechnology and nanomaterial production.
