ABSTRACT

Plants are exposed to many risks that are increasing day by day in light of climatic changes that threaten agricultural wealth, as they cause losses in agricultural production, in addition to decreasing the quality of the product, as well as the secretion of toxins or toxins that cause poisoning and multiple serious diseases affecting humans or animals. Many related efforts have been made in an attempt to eradicate these diseases or even reduce the incidence and thus reduce the losses. The means of plant resistance have been diverse. Trichoderma is one of the most successful biological resistance factors. Trichoderma species are used to resist fungal plant pathogens via a complex network of multiple mechanisms. Trichoderma can induce and stimulates plant physiological and structural immunity against to disease resistance to a wide range of pathogenic microorganisms plant pathogens. Currently, many researchers have tried to dissect the study of biochemical changes and anatomical structures within cells and plant tissues to know the mechanism of action of Trichoderma spp against fungal plant pathogens. This review illustrates biocontrol mechanisms of Trichoderma spp, application of Trichoderma spp as a biocontrol for fungal plant diseases. Furthermore, this review explains how to increase mass production and formulations and delivery of Trichoderma sppp as well as delivery of Trichoderma spp. These are expected to promote the plant growth as well as not only rapid identification of effective strains and their applications but also, indicate the potential for improvement of Trichoderma spp as safe biocontrol agents.
