ABSTRACT
Colonies of giant honeybees A. dorsata and A. laboriosa have drastically declined during the last 30 years in northern India. This has mainly been due to decline of floral resources, attack of pests and diseases, and environmental degradation. The decline of wild honeybee population has also been attributed to crude methods of honey extraction and loss of habitat.
