ABSTRACT

Additive manufacturing involves many technologies, such as three-dimensional (3D) printing, stimulating research interest in biomaterials and tissue engineering. For example, additive manufacturing applied to regenerative medicine covers cell bio-imprinting followed by 3D biomanufacturing of tissues/organs. These technologies are being introduced into regenerative medicine and clinical application and are specifically adapted for the formulation of drugs using 3D-printing technology. The purpose of this chapter is to research the current state and to outline the various methodological issues of integrative and regenerative medicine or tissue engineering related to additive manufacturing, as well as some current drug formulations.
