ABSTRACT

The contribution of 12 principles of green chemistry to 17 goals of sustainable development is reviewed, and its bibliometric features were given that reveal the characteristics of the published papers. The bibliometric analysis was performed on the literature cited in the SCOPUS and the Web of Science (WoS) from the past to 2022. The applied search was (ALL = green chemistry) AND (ALL = sustainable development goals) for all years. The bibliometric analysis of 1,143 SCOPUS and 1,448 WoS publications was chosen in accordance with the applied search. The bibliometric analysis covers mainly year-wise and geographical-wise distribution, authorship pattern, citation, etc. All these data were organized, analyzed, tabulated, and presented using simple statistical methods. Statistics show that the size and coverage of the databases are the key differences between WoS and SCOPUS. Regarding the contribution of green chemistry to sustainable development goals (SDGs), a total of 6,221 authors from 126 countries have contributed. The scientific categories showed that 12 green chemistry principles contribute to 17 SDGs.
