ABSTRACT

Coagulants and adsorbents made from plants and animals are easily accessible, biodegradable, ecofriendly, effective with less sludge formation, secure for people and animals, and help create a greener environment. These biomasses’ beneficial properties have attracted the attention of numerous researchers who are interested in creating and using them. The production, processing, and applications of various biocoagulants and bioadsorbents (BCAs), as well as their present and potential future roles in the treatment of industrial wastewater, will all be covered in this book chapter. The features of BCAs will help to eliminate the negative impact that conventional coagulants have on people and the environment. The benefits of BCAs to a greener environment and the attainment of sustainable development goals for water and health were outlined.
