ABSTRACT

For the CuO–SnO2 nanocomposite prepared by hydrothermal method, nano composite powders of different ratios were prepared. Precursor of copper acetate and tin dehydrate (analytic reagent grade) were taken, and ammonia (1:1) was used as the precipitator. CuO–SnO2 nanocomposite structural property is confirmed by XRD. Average crystallite size was found at 8.4 nm by Schreer formula. The surface morphology were confirmed by FESEM and TEM studies. The optical property of CuO–SnO2 nanocomposite were found by UV Study and also the calculated band gap result is 3.9 eV. From the IV characteristics, below reverse bias the leakage current is very low, and the forward threshold voltage is 3.47 V. As a homo junction, the p-SnO2/n-CuO diode have prospective advantages over hetero junction diode in affecting a small, severe edge imperfection, and also conformed the solar cell efficiency of CuO-SnO2 composite nano powder.
