ABSTRACT

In terms of ethnic evolution, Asians often show brachycephalic head shapes, which indicate the head width is relatively larger in comparison to the length. Similarly, Asians possess relatively flat faces and sometimes typically flat noses. In some severe cases, the flat nose also is accompanied by a receding forehead, glabella area, low nasal bridge and even small chin. Nose augmentations are a highly requested procedures in Asian countries. Existing techniques for rhinoplasty are using implants or autologous cartilage; however, most of the surgery is expensive and has a long recovery time and implant-related complications. Therefore, patients prefer not to undergo a surgical rhinoplasty. This has led to an increasing popularity of non-surgical rhinoplasty with fillers. There are lots of products in the market, such as hyaluronic acid, collagen, collagen-stimulator products, permanent fillers, and so on. Patient selection is vital for satisfactory results.
