ABSTRACT
With the progress of science and technology and the emergence of advanced ideas, improving the service life of asphalt pavement has gradually become a major focus of the development of the field of transportation and the goal of a vast number of scientific researchers. By reading, analyzing, and summarizing the academic articles related to asphalt pavement, this paper puts forward measures to improve the service life of asphalt pavement: increasing the effective binder content, recycling, material design and modifications, thermal crack healing, phase change materials, aggregates made of synthetic materials, string reinforcement by robots, aspects of pavement construction, and construction joints to increase the asphalt road life to extend road life, increase driving safety and driving experience.
