ABSTRACT

To study the performance of open-graded epoxy asphalt EGFC-10 for road performance, the amount of asphalt and the permaculture time on the influence of epoxy asphalt factors are determined on the basis of analyzing the technical requirements of epoxy asphalt raw materials. The epoxy asphalt EGFC-10 road performance was evaluated through high temperature test, low temperature test, water stability test, and the mechanical properties of the mixture was evaluated combined with the dynamic modulus test. Finally, the long-term performance of the epoxy asphalt EGFC-10 was explored by focusing on the rutting performance analysis of the test section. Research shows that: epoxy asphalt EGFC-10 has good high temperature rutting resistance and resistance to water damage. When the test temperature is higher, instead, the dynamic modulus of the epoxy asphalt mixture is lower. As the frequency of loading stress increases, the dynamic modulus of the epoxy asphalt mixture increases as well. The epoxy asphalt thin layer overlay has a slightly reduced rutting depth compared to the SMA surface layer, which has a greater improvement on the high temperature rutting resistance. After one year of operation, the rutting depth of EGFC-10 pavement was about 1 mm, which showed good rutting resistance.
