ABSTRACT

To study the impact of upgrading vehicle load level on small and medium span skew bridges on the highway, the research is carried out based on the upgrading load level project of hollow slab skew bridges of a highway. The sensitivity of upgrading vehicle load levels of small and medium span skew bridges is analyzed based on grillage models. Through systematic calculation, test, and analysis, 23 pre-stressed concrete hollow slab skew girder bridges on this line can meet the requirements of lifting vehicle load level to highway-class I(JTG D60-2015 code); the renewal of the code has little impact on bridges with a span of more than 50 m, but has a greater impact on small and medium span skew bridges; the bigger the span of the bridge is, the more advantageous to upgrade vehicle load level; the bigger the skew angle of the bridge is, the more advantageous to upgrade vehicle load level.
