ABSTRACT

The construction requirements and deformation control measures of urban shield tunnels crossing bridges are becoming more and more stringent than those of other projects, which can have adverse effects on bridges such as uneven settlement if not handled properly. In this paper, we use MADIS GTS/NX finite element analysis software to simulate the shield tunnel construction across a bridge by selecting four construction parameters: soil bin pressure, grouting pressure, jack thrust and cutter torque, and analyze the surface deformation and bridge deformation comprehensively, relying closely on a typical interval in an intercity railroad project. The analysis results show that the parameters of shield construction have an important influence on the surface deformation and bridge deformation, and the deformation control measures are proposed to provide a reference for the study of similar projects
