ABSTRACT
With rapid urbanization, the concept of smart city was introduced to meet the personalized travel demand, wherein the urban bus passenger transport system will undergo disruptive changes. First, the development trend of urban bus system in the future is analyzed from the perspectives of travel demand change and technological environment change in the smart city environment. Second, from the aspects of service model, operation technology, and application management, this paper describes the core characteristics of the new regional urban bus system. Finally, the typical application scenarios of the new bus system in the future smart city and the development suggestions of the new regional urban passenger transport system are put forward.
