ABSTRACT

The emergence of mobile technologies has put the whole world under a single roof. The requirement for connectivity is increasing every day, and every profession needs the service of the telecommunication industry. The major challenge of the telecom operators around the world is to acquire spectrum or bandwidth. This involves demographic and commercial challenges. After overcoming those and getting up the required bandwidth for service provision, the next challenge is to build a robust, concurrent, dense service architecture that includes high-capacity radio equipment, base transceivers, and switching centers. After the successful implementation, the next challenge is the quality of service (QoS). This chapter deals with the parameters that influence the QoS, their significance, and the mitigation of undesirable parameters and enhancement of the required parameters using artificial intelligence (AI). This chapter also presents various case studies on mobility management by providing sample solutions that can be supported by AI. Finally, this work provides insights into how the AI could be helpful in enhancing the QoS of 5G mobile networks.
