ABSTRACT

High throughput image analysis is helpful for biologists to deal with a large number of images and quantify various physical properties such as size, shape, and color composition of the object. The efficacy of this technique depends on factors such as image quality, noise reduction techniques, good filtration, and segmentation techniques. There are many tools available for image processing. This chapter deals with an analysis of morphological characters of Spirulina platensis ImageJ, an open-source platform for the analysis of microscopy images. The morphological parameters such as area, perimeter, solidity, circularity, and integrated density are measured using ImageJ software. The result was grouped under three categories according to the number of spirals.
