ABSTRACT
In this commentary chapter, we explore the need for a humanistic rewire of GeoAI, emphasizing ethical, inclusive, and human-guided development. As GeoAI becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, it is crucial to ensure that it benefits society and the environment while upholding essential ethical principles. We discuss the importance of examining GeoAI practices, particularly on marginalized communities and nonhuman entities, to identify potential ethical and social issues and address them proactively. By envisioning and working towards a humanistic future for GeoAI, we can harness its transformative potential to create a more just, equitable, and sustainable world for all.
