ABSTRACT
This chapter on Forward Thinking on GeoAI (ab)uses a simple knowledge retrieval scenario as the framework to discuss: the importance of continued interaction between the communities that make up the field; the challenges of interdisciplinary research; the role of industry especially with regard to ethics; near- to medium-term opportunities; and some interesting recent developments in generative models.
