ABSTRACT

Diagnostic ultrasound technology has revolutionised clinical medicine by enabling health professionals to diagnose pathology safely and accurately without radiation. However, as diagnostic ultrasound proliferates across healthcare, we must ensure that person-centred care remains our priority. This chapter outlines guidance for undertaking ultrasound examinations in a patient-centred and safe way and the following two sections in the chapter will explore person-centred ultrasound approaches and patient experiences in more depth.
