ABSTRACT

Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB) is one of the most significant fixed links in Chinese and even the world's history. It overcomes plenty of challenges, thus achieves impossible tasks. HZMB is divided into three navigation span bridges and a tunnel. Each part of the bridge wall varies inside. In order to maintain a stable structure, statics of bridge is not the only influential factor. Sea crossing bridges of considerable lengths have to set up artificial islands to ensure the connection between the bridge and the undersea tunnel. At the same time exchange traditional methods to reduce the water resistance. Despite these, HZMB still has other advanced designs that are worth exploring and they will all be introduced in this paper in general. This article explains both the overall structure of HZMB and moreover reveals details worth recommending. Research elaborates that both the structure and the construction processes include various ingenuity to maintain the stability and durability of HZMB.
