ABSTRACT

Affected by the severe rainfall action in Henan province, a huge range of railroad loess embankment was damaged under the action of rainwater infiltration and soakage. In order to solve the problem of loess embankment collapse and slippage, the methods of on-site investigation and numerical simulation were used. The research results indicated that: affected by the concentrated surface water erosion and infiltration, the railroad shoulder collapsed. To deal with the embankment damage, the prevention countermeasures of vertical steel flower tube + oblique steel anchor tube + slope toe retaining wall were proposed. The research results provide a reference for the prevention and control of existing railroad embankment damage in loess regions.
