ABSTRACT

In order to explore the influence of shape memory alloy on the flexural performance of reinforced concrete beams, the bending test was carried out by embedding shape memory alloy (SMA) instead of tensile reinforcement in reinforced concrete beams. The section size of shape memory alloy and the influence of alloy types on the flexural performance of reinforced concrete beams were studied. The experimental results show that the shape memory alloy (SMA) has a negative effect on the ultimate load of rc beams, but greatly improves the ductility of rc beams, and the rc beams with two properties are better than those with only one.
