ABSTRACT

Based on the shield construction close to the underground structure, this paper analyzes the impact of shield tunneling on the safety of underground space according to the field monitoring data. The results show that the adjacent construction caused the high earth pressure and high pore water pressure of the soil between the tunnel and the underground structure. The high pore water pressure led to the large deformation of the underground diaphragm wall, which seriously affected the safety of the underground structure. The instantaneous opening of the enclosed door upon shield arrival caused the collapse of the soil in front of the shaft well, which seriously affected the construction safety. By slowing down the shield tunneling speed and secondary grouting, the safety of underground space could be maintained.
