ABSTRACT

In order to investigate the correlations between the mechanical performances and the components of slag-fly ash based geopolymer, a series of tests were performed including Portland cement mortar specimens and different proportion of slag for fly ash based geopolymer mortar ones. The test results indicate that the strength of pure fly ash geopolymer is lower than that of Portland cement. Furthermore, when the slag weight proportion is more than 20%, both the flexural strength and compressive strength of slag-fly ash based geopolymer are higher than that of Portland cement. It provides a reference to prepare geopolymer concrete.
