ABSTRACT
With developments in society and modernization, the scope of application of geophysics is expanding. Nowadays, the masses of society have gradually realized the importance of harmonious coexistence with the natural world, and at the same time, they are paying more and more attention to the shallow surface of the earth. As a result, surface engineering constructions are increasing; thus, shallow geophysical exploration methods have become one of the important development directions for applied geophysics in China. This article discusses the development of Rayleigh waves and the factors affecting exploration depth.
