ABSTRACT

The 1D-visco-hypoplastic model based on Hypothesis B was implemented within the framework of Terzaghi's consolidation theory to estimate time-dependent soil behavior. The model parameters are obtained from constant rate of strain tests. In this model, the creep was modified for a better prediction. The first loading relates to the strain rate. The over-consolidation ratio is taken into account in describing the yield surface. This method is verified by an isotropic compression test by Krieg (2005) and a well-recorded project by Soumaya (2005). The comparisons illustrate the good feasibility of this 1D-visco-hypoplastic model in geotechnical design.
