ABSTRACT
There are more and more developing countries worldwide that need BIM technology to promote their AECO industry. It is important and urgent to understand the challenges and problems of BIM implementation in order to apply this technology more efficiently and effectively. We designed a questionnaire to investigate the current state of BIM implementation in construction industry in China. Then, the problems and challenges were summarized from the survey results by statistical analysis. This resulted in proposed suggestions for government policies to effectively BIM development and implementation within China. This result will provide a reference for BIM adoptions in other developing countries.
