The group culverts as one of the key nodes of seismic vulnerability analysis of traffic system must participate in the connection reliability analysis of traffic system directly. Based on the investigation and data analysis of the seismic damage of the culverts belonging to Longnan highway section after the Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan Province, and the comparative study of the seismic damage phenomenon of the culverts after the Tangshan earthquake, five seismic damage grades and descriptions of the culvert are obtained. According to the phenomenon and cause of seismic damage, six main factors of the seismic vulnerability analysis method are selected, which are earthquake intensity, site type, structure type, portal building type, culvert span and culvert length. Using 100 actual group culvert cases among them with relatively uniform attribute distribution, the statistical analysis method, the support vector machine method and the earthquake damage degree evaluation method are studied respectively. The research results are the method system of culvert seismic vulnerability analysis. It is not only a supplement to the earthquake damage prediction of transportation system, but also can be applied to earthquake disaster risk assessment, the research of culvert seismic design method and the scientific management of culvert engineering.
