ABSTRACT

This chapter deflates the binary presumption about ‘erroneous’ humans versus ‘perfect’ machines, as it critically examines how deviation from an established validation criteria by the AI can generate unpredictable results with a distinct mark of creativity. Through a series of examples of his own work and the work of other composers, the author shows various ways in which the artists use the shortcomings of the virtual agent as an inspiration to create their respective music and art.
