ABSTRACT

WHO (2020) had noted that “Anxiety, uneasiness, and stress are usual reactions to perceived threat or real threats, as well as it also occurs when we experience any uncertainty or unfamiliar situation(s).” Thus, it is very much expected that individuals may experience the fear of losing their job during pandemic situation. As global GDP is continuously shrinking and many businesses are facing financial crises, which is also reflected in employee turnover. So many employees are struggling for retaining their jobs which in turn exceeds their working hours, inflexible weekly holidays, excessive workload, etc. (Nicholas Bloom, 2020), which is hampering employees’ work-life balance (Kang, 2020) and resulting in stress (Hamouche Salima, 2020). So to keep the employee’s morale high and keep them stress-free business, professionals specifically HR personnel have strategically planned their employees’ activities to achieve business targets without challenging employees’ physical and mental fitness. This chapter has given a detailed 216outline about how corporates were taking care of their employees with respect to managing their work-life and occupational stress, different activities which they planned during pandemic to keep their employees happy and stress-free, also implementation of NEW NORMAL in the current working environment.
